You know, having someone who knows what they are doing really helps when learning a new program. I tried learning Photoshop by myself years ago, and the only thing I could get to work was the burn tool.
Enter B, and his Photoshop disk. In the span of twenty minutes, I took this photo:

and got this by just learning how to use the “adjustments” features:

It’s not the best, but it is a start, and I am pretty pleased with it, especially since that is just one tool. He is showing me some other stuff, so, hopefully, by the time I get home, I will have a nice, competent, working knowledge of Photoshop to build on.
See, this was one of those programs that I SHOULD have learned in college, but they only ever offered one course a semester, and all of the Comm Designers had to take it, and I got tired of it being full. Not to mention that I didn’t think a painter would need it, ADDING in, of course, the big stubborn streak I have which made me NOT want to take it because I the instructor who taught it was, in my opinion, a raging ass and I didn’t want to have anything to do with them. So, my fault, and I am trying to correct the oversight now. And NOW, it isn’t work. It is fun. Especially the twisty tools that screw up faces. More to come.
