Due to technical difficulties, there hasn’t been any posts for a bit. I decided that I wanted to try scanning in the art instead of trying to take a non-blurry photo (which seems to be most difficult for me to do for some reason…) and so I began to set up the scanner I have had in a box for a couple of years.
Problems abound.
First, the cables that were with the scanner were NOT the correct cables.
Correct cables have now been located.
Second, my desktop computer does not seem to want to recognize the scanner suddenly. Which is actually a very big pain because I have had it set to that computer in the past.
Program was located on the hard drive and removed, installation software was found in the software box and reinstalled.
Third, one of the cables was bad.
Replaced cable.
Now the thing is acting like it can’t work because the ink is bad. I am going to try to see if I can get it to scan without ink in the printer (since it is one of those two in one jobs), otherwise, it is a trip to get ink cartridges (which, really, isn’t a bad thing, I need them anyway, I just wanted to scan tonight).
Hopefully, by the end of this weekend everything will be reconnected and up and running and there will be more art. What I REALLY need is a new scanner, but that isn’t going to be happening any time soon so GOT TO MAKE IT WORK!
